The Story Behind My First Digital Product

When I was inspired to create digital products, the aim was to create products that help others with their organisation, efficiency and wellbeing.

And with that, my first digital product was ‘HK-VA’s Invoices, Payments & Expenses Tracker’.

When I first started freelancing, it was important to me that I set up processes and systems in a way that would keep everything organised and well-maintained.

At the time, I had to balance a full-time job while building and managing something long-term. I couldn’t risk messy systems and processes because I knew it would probably put me off the whole thing and cloud my performance and productivity at work. 

Also, previously, a big deterrent from being self-employed was the accounting side of things. The subject of tax returns seemed very intimidating and complicated. 

So that’s where this tracker came in. It helped me manage and have good oversight of my business progress, my incomings and outgoings. 

The dashboard element of this tracker was key to visually representing my business growth. I knew that at the end of the financial year, it would be really encouraging to see how much my business had developed over time. 

This spreadsheet is easy and ready-to-use. It is available to support you with the management of your invoices and expenses. On the second sheet, you log your outgoing invoices and all payments received in response. On the third sheet, you log all of your business expenses. Finally, on the first sheet, you can view all of your business insights.

At the end of your financial year, this spreadsheet will save you a lot of time and effort when it comes to reporting these figures and analysing your business growth and expenditure. You won’t have to spend hours scouring through statements and receipts trying to piece it all together. And, you will feel less stressed and more confident when filing your tax returns.
